Summary

The article focuses on an attempt to present the model of setting objectives in teaching reading comprehension in an ESP situation. These objectives should lead the student from the level of language skills to reading skills. As a result, the student is supposed to have indicated sufficient reading competence in English which enables him to benefit from a reading skills course.
