Стрептококи групи В (СГВ) часто колонізують урогенітальний тракт і пряму кишку. У більшості випадків цей мікроорганізм не викликає жодних захворювань. Однак при зниженні захисних сил організму може викликати такі захворювання: остеомієліт, некротизуючий фасціїт, пнівмонію, артрит, простатит, інфекції урогенітального тракту та ін.
