TRANSLATİON AS A METHOD OF TEACHİNG A FOREİGN LANGUAGE

Summary

The article examines the role of translation as one of the methods of teaching foreign languages in the modern education system. Special attention is paid to the importance of translation activities in the process of forming students' linguistic and communicative competence. It is noted that translation contributes to a deeper understanding of the lexical and grammatical features of the language being studied, as well as the development of analytical thinking and skills of comparing language systems. The historical aspects of the use of the translation method in teaching foreign languages and its transformation in modern teaching methods are considered. It is emphasized that in modern conditions, translation is increasingly used in combination with communication and gaming technologies, which makes it possible to increase the motivation of students and the effectiveness of learning language material. It is concluded that the integration of translation exercises with modern pedagogical methods contributes to the formation of stable language skills and the development of students' communicative competence.
