Summary

The uncontrolled and extensive growth of mass tourism has created acute ecological, social and cultural problems in many regions of the world. Ecotourism is one of the most important and effective forms of sustainable tourism. In modern conditions, the importance of ecotourism is constantly growing, as it responds to both environmental challenges and public demand for responsible and sustainable travel. The relevance of the work is determined by the fact that in Georgia, where tourism is a leading sector of the economy, there is still a lack of systematic and theoretical modeling studies that consider the interaction of the social, economic and ecological environment in a unified perspective. The paper discusses the analysis of international practice of sustainable tourism, and in particular its leading form – ecotourism, and its adaptation to Georgian reality, which is a guarantee of the country's long-term economic stability. The subject of the research is the socio-economic and ecological aspects of ecotourism development, factors of growth of the ecotourism market, the issue of effective distribution of financial investments for sustainable development. The focus is on Georgia's leading ecotourism destinations and the region's potential for four-season ecotourism development. The study is based on an analysis of complex economic and ecological approaches and theories. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods have been used, ensuring the full implementation of the research objectives and a comprehensive study of the issue of sustainable ecotourism.
