This article examines a topic whose relevance is growing due to the need to clarify the concepts of a "green" economy in the new geopolitical and economic environment. The study draws on theoretical approaches to the concept of a "green" economy, reflected in scholarly works on the green economy and green financing, substantiating the need and potential for using new financial instruments in the context of sustainable development. Green financing practices are examined, and the factors influencing changes in previous approaches to financing, administering, and regulating activities related to greening the Georgian economy are analyzed. Proposals to reduce administrative influence in the environmental protection system are particularly prominent.
