HOLIDAY TRADITIONS IN DICKENS’ CHRISTMAS PROSE

The genre of short Christmas prose is today one of the most popular literary genres in the literature of many countries, especially since it was created in the 19th century by some of the most prominent writers of that time. Walter Scott and Washington Irving, for example, were fans of English Christmas traditions and rituals, and their works depict a panorama of the folk Christmas celebration, but do not specify its content, limiting themselves only to the genre and theme of a Christmas night story by the hearth.
