EFFECTIVE GAMES AND ACTIVITIES IN THE EFL CLASSROOM FOR YOUNG LEARNERS

The article explores a range of effective popular games and activities designed for young learners in the EFL (English as a Foreign Language) classroom. Drawing on recent pedagogical research, the paper identifies games that promote engagement activity, motivation, and language acquisition. The study introduces learners’ benefits, criteria for using games in the classroom, and summary of top tips for teachers. Practical examples, such as different types of language games, vocabulary races, and relationship-building activities are discussed, with attention to how they can be adapted for young learners. The findings highlight the importance of balancing fun with purposeful language practice to support learners’ linguistic growth.
