Стрімке зростання глобального ринку криптоактивів поставило перед регуляторами завдання, яке не має прецедентів у традиційних фінансах: як упорядкувати обіг активів, що за своєю природою є транскордонними й децентралізованими, не пригнічуючи при цьому технологічної інновації. У 2024 році загальна капіталізація крипторинку знову перевищила позначку 3 трлн доларів США, а кількість активних гаманців у світі сягнула кількох сотень мільйонів.
